Rated 4 out of 5by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5by So Far, So Good I purchased the CyberPower OR1500PFCRT2U PFC for our 2 servers at work. I first considered a comparable APC product because we have used APC 550 VA backups for our computers for years and they have proven to be very dependable. I have personally owned several CyberPower 550 VA products at home and they have generally lasted as long as would be expected, but when they died, it was not always gracefully. The last one developed a burning smell when it died which alarmed me so I replaced it with an APC 550 VA. That being said, I was not even considering a CyberPower unit until I read a lot of online reviews about the APC Smart units having similar problems and then on top of that, their customer service was not good at all. Reviews of CyberPower's customer service were very good. We have had this unit in operation now for about 3 weeks and it is working great. The Power Panel software does not have the most intuitive layout and took me a little while to configure, but I love the way it works. It sends me an email if a designated event occurs, which I have tested and it works. It gives many other options for treatment of events and alerts. While I still prefer APC's smaller models for PC use and do not plan to ever buy another CyberPower unit for home, I think that I am going to be very happy with this unit on our servers. I also got it for a better price and free shipping. It arrived 2 days later, which was impressive. It is also very quiet, which is something reviewers of APC models complained about. I am giving it 4 stars only because it is still very new, and because the Power Panel software could have had better explanations regarding the settings. October 9, 2014
