Best Pencil EVARRR!
Seriously, hands down, the Tul mechanical pencil is amazing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They have a screw-up eraser which quickly and easily rubs out your mistakes without taking half the paper with it. The grip is perfect. The feel of the pencil is very nice. And I've never had one fail. Other mechanical pencils get lead jams or will stop expressing the lead when you click it. I've not ever had any of those problems... wait, I've had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with my Tul pencils.
The sad thing? I cannot find them in San Diego. There is no Office Max here. Depot and the Stapler place has the monopoly on office supplies here and they both bite.
I rarely ever have a $50 order to obtain the free shipping, so I'll need someone else to buy them and bring them to me.
I can't even find Tul online at Amazon.
These pencils are a gem. And apparently a rare gem at that. I would recommend stocking up when they go on sale.

My nephew really loved the TUL mechanical pencils! He loves his TUL's pens and now their mechanical pencils. He uses them everyday at school and all his friends think they look cool. Thanks OfficeMax for offering such fine products and at great prices, too!

Solid, reliable, comfortable
Easily the best pencil I have come across. Quality: after 18 mo of use (shared between 2 pencils) neither have had any problems; not a single jam. I think this pencil will be particularly well-liked by those that tend to grip closer to the tip, as I do. Most pencils have grips that start an inch or so away from the tip, and I find these extremely uncomfortable to use, but the TUL is perfect. If this sounds anything like you, you'll probably love this. The fact that it doesn't taper at all is nice as well; perfect diameter makes for a very comfortable, ergonomic feel.
My only gripe would be the eraser. While the eraser itself works well, the twisting mechanism doesn't seem strong enough to hold the eraser in place as well as it should. Thus, after every 2 or 3 eraser uses I usually have to twist it back out. Not a huge problem but certainly deserves mention.
Overall it's near perfect for my writing style.
