Bought it in 1/2015 and by 3/2015 it was starting to crack. "all-pile" should include shag carpet....

This was purchased to replace a mat that had cracked. I selected this one because the specifications indicated it was 1/3 inch thick. It is a fraction of that thickness and the mat sags at the chair wheels, so much so that the chair wheels gets stuck in the mat. I'm less than 200 lbs. I wish I had read some of the other reviews prior to purchasing it.

The online picture of this product shows it to be a rectangular shape which is what I wanted. However, the item that was received was one with two of the corners cut out (like an upside down T) and similar in shape to many other chair mats. That said, the item is of very good quality and serves the purpose for which it was obtained so I kept it.

Rated 3 out of 5by Heath Cracks after a month or two
I just picked up my 4th or 5th one of these mats. It has a lifetime warranty, so I swap it out about once a year. Usually the first crack appears in a couple of weeks. After about 6 months multiple cracks connect and a chunk pops out leaving a hole. For a couple of months, I'll tape the divot back in with clear shipping tape. Then at some point around 12 months in, I can't take it anymore - so I'll toss it in the back of the truck and head to the store.
The first time or two I got no resistance at all. For the last two years I've gotten "the warranty is with the manufacturer, but we'll replace it for you this time" from the store employee. Realspace is a house brand of Office Depot, so I don't see the difference, but no real complaints since I haven't gotten an actual "no" yet. I had a similar experience with a Rubbermaid mat from a competing store until they stopped making mats altogether.
I will admit that my carpet is plush - no thicker than 1/2" - but I have thick pad under it too. I'm also kind of a heavy guy, so it might perform better under more favorable conditions.
Bottom line... it's not a great mat, but you only have to pay for it once. If they stopped replacing it, I'd make something out of laminate flooring and plywood instead of trying another mat like this.
