It is cool, but you can not control the gel enough to keep it from bleeding over or under the lines. You can not write over the highlighted area. The gel is a solid, weird shaped like an oval. It's like highlighting with a Jumbo Crayon basically, without the sharpened point. Would not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5by Lin Perfect for Highlighting Music
My piano students use this highlighter when marking dynamics and/other expressive notations within their music. The gel does not smear. It does not bleed through to the next page of music. It has no odor and does not dry out. Because the surface tip of the highlighter covers a large surface coverage, more so than the chisel points, notational markings are easy to highlight. It is perfect for marking music.

Rated 1 out of 5by officepro Good idea... but no
There is no tip to the gel so you end up highlighting almost two fields. If you slant it then you end up highlighting the bottom. Also, the top cap does not stay on to the bottom. Good idea in theory, but looks like I will stick to the original.

Rated 1 out of 5by Rocky&Bullwinkle Too Wide
I have found this highlighter to be much too wide resulting in a sloppy page. There really is no 'tip' to it. It changes shape with each use. I am a fan of gel pens, but not of gel highlighters.
