Plantronics .Audio 995
Last if you take care of them
Have had my 995 for going on 5 years and they have not broke as I take good care of them and do not abuse the headset. Truly, the headset looks as good as the day I unpackaged the product. That is the plus; however, the battery does not last longer than 4 to 5 hours before needing a charge. I must plug in to charge every evening. All controls on the headset are easily accessible. Range is about 30 feet for both talk and transmit. Sound is good but I experience a good bit of clicking as the signal is lost, at times, at 15 feet especially after 3 hours of listening and/or talking. If you take care of your equipment, they will last a long time. If you plan on remaining relatively close to the dongle, you will probably enjoy the product. Do not expect a long range as output is restricted by the government both on the dongle and the headset.

Good headset but breaks after a while
I bought these in May 2013 and use only at home about 3 times a week. Picked them up yesterday and snap went the headpiece! Had heard of others having the same problem but didn't think it would happen...I had to use glue to put it back together as it is over 1 year. Anyway, beware. No reason for it to break...

sounds good, but not so comfortable.
Been using this for about a week now. I've done a handful of internet calls and spent most of the time listening to music. Overall the sound quality is pretty good although with a better fit the listening would be better. What's odd about the design is the ear pads don't have any horizontal rotation and so they press tightly on the front, but there's a gap on the back side between the ear pad and my head that's big enough to put my finger through. This causes three problems: 1. instead of the pressure of the ear pads being evenly distributed it's concentrated on the front part of the pad and so gets uncomfortable after wearing for a bit. 2: because the earpad doesn't create any kind of seal around your ears, the bass response is significantly lessened. And 3: the gap means sound comes both in and out; I got these for the office and I hear too much of my coworkers and they hear too much of the music coming from the headphone.

Breaks too easily
When you extend the headphones to make them larger, there is only a very thin (and hollow) band of plastic. After about 6 months of very careful use, this band broke on one side. I was able to work around this by concealing the broken part within the sturdier outer casing and extending the other side more. Unfortunately after 2 more months, the other side broke too. For this price, I would expect a sturdier construction.
- Comfortable (while it lasted)
- Works out-of-the-box on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04)
- Good sound quality for Skype/Google Voice
- Flip-up microphone to mute is handy
- Breaks easily when extended
- Poor range - for me about 6 feet even with no obstructions (40 foot range is a joke)
- Can't use when charging
- Power button takes a few seconds to respond - time is of the essence when a Skype call rings but your headphones are on the charger
