I also experience frequent problems with the safe having to regularly change the batteries to unlock the door and still had difficulty opening the door. Its a product design flaw. I've complained to the company and received no real solutions except a new plastic container to hold my batteries (wow). After increased difficulty getting the door to open, I've now left it unopen until I can purchase a replacement - and the replacement won't use a keypad. I'm very unhappy with this product and will be contacting sentry separately.

We have had this safe for three years. Obviously the warrenty has expired. Last night the locking mechanism refused to release. After contacting the company we were given directions on how to break into our own safe--destroying it. No other options were available. For the money spent we were not expecting it to last such a relatively short time. We will not purchase from Sentry again.

Meets our needs
We have this safe in our office and I am in and out of it about 3 times a week. We have had this safe for about 4 months and have never had to replace the batteries.

The overall quality of the safe is great, I'm confident that it will last a very long time. The only fault I found with it was the instructions on operating the locking mechanism. There were instructions in multible places which sometimes actually conflicted with each other. I figured it out, but it shoud have been clear, correct, and all in one place.
