Nice Desk For the Price
Purchased desk for college student. Ample work/storage area and sturdy desk for the price. Very heavy piece. Definitely a two person assembly and moving project. Set aside 3 or more hours for proper assembly.

Beware - very temporary
I never write reviews but after my experience with this desk I felt compelled to do so in order to warn people. I have purchased about 4 Sauder desks in my lifetime and have usually gotten about 5 years and several moves out of my desks. This desk had some issues with assembly, in particular the pieces fitting together tightly and the drawer and door never aligned despite many attempts to fix it. After 1 year the entire desk just started falling apart. First the left side that supports the desktop just broke loose like a swinging door. Shortly after I went to pull the file drawer out and the whole front of the file drawer just fell off! I would say this is very cheaply made. I believe you can find something else in the same price range that is more stable and solid.

Good desk but leaves a bit to improve on
Let's be honest: you want the short version. For the price, this is a good desk. Not great, but definitely not bad.
Desk is good, but not great. The marble-looking surface warps/bubbles when water is spilled on it and left for too long. I'm not exactly sure what causes this. It isn't 100% going to bubble/warp, but it has certainly happened in the areas when water was let to set on it for 30 minutes to 1 hour. To clarify, the water wasn't spilled, it was just condensation from glasses and it causes the marble-looking surface to bubble up. However, it's not in a ring pattern for me: there are just "bubbles" coming up in the marble surface. *shrugs*
It is sturdy in the sense that it is heavy and everything feels pretty secure when opening/closing drawers; however, I am replacing it due to me being a bit dumb and trying to pull it across a rug by myself from the right side. The left side gave out and completely broke off. So this shows that it is quite "cheaply" constructed and just uses particle board for the wood pieces with simple 'screw-n-lock' bits to adjoin the different pieces.
The hutch is great. Looks good and no complaints.
The drawers work fine; however, my lower drawer that pulls out when installed was slightly out of alignment. What this meant was that the drawer looks crooked when viewing the desk. This was not my fault; the screwholes for the desk drawer were not aligned correctly. The drawer still works fine, though.
Anyway, all in all, it was a good desk for a good price. If you are very careful to not let water sit on the marble surface, it shouldn't bubble. And keep in mind that it is still a "cheap" desk, and remember that it is particle board and the left-bottom/support board, in particular, will easily give out to being stressed to the left or right, so when moving it around when constructed, get a friend to help you move it around your room regardless if it is on hardwood or ESPECIALLY if you are on carpet.
