Canon PIXMA? MG3520 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer, Black 2.9 5 99 99
can't at this time Having trouble getting it set up December 11, 2014
Canon Pixma MG3520 Don't know if I would recommend this product or not! Printer did not come with instructions or a cd. Tried to get on line to download the instructions .Didn't work. December 9, 2014
Even with tech-support, it just wouldn't work... I bought this as a "Black-Friday" deal. It looked great. Low, low, price and my kids and wife would have been able to print directly from their laptops and tablets. However, it simply would not work wirelessly... PERIOD. I hammered against trying to set this up for over a day (and, I am a certified PC specialist and instructor). The virtually non-existent instructions asserted that it was simply "Plug-and-Play"... unless it doesn't work... which (in my case)... it didn't. And, the on-screen suggestions (when setup fails) are that the user should consult the documentation for every other part of the their-own network. After a day of searching the Internet and finding the same problems being experienced by many purchasers (about 3 out of 4), I called, the Canon Tech-support number. Waste of time. The support technician expected that simply plugging-in the printer and running the installer (yet again) would make it work. And, when it didn't... she had me load a canon-printer app on my wife's tablet, but none of the installations could even see the printer. The technician emailed me a list of ports to open on my router (there weren't any closed ports, or a firewall, on this router. And, this router has run flawlessly for over a year). And, she repeatedly said it simply must be something to do with the anti-virus software (on a laptop that wasn't even on at the time)... and then, cut me loose (pretty much to fend for myself). However, the latest repeated attempts to install the wireless-printer DID load junk on both the laptop and tablet... AND... managed to crash the wireless network (for all the computers), until I manually powered-down and reset everything. After finally accepting defeat, I returned the printer the next day. And, apparently, I wasn't the only one returning this particular printer. It should be noted that according to the few positive online-reviews, the printer did work well for some people, but, most seemed to have had similar problems (or worse). In my case, it was a truly frustrating, nightmare of a bad purchase decision, and a big disappointment. Be warned! December 8, 2014
