    Answer:
Ink is probably made in China or India, then shipped and held in the store or warehouse for a time. Cartridges tend to dry out. Twice I went on a 3/4 week vacation, came home and used the HP Printer. Ink very low or out. Short life for a large amount of money.

    Answer:
Cartridges have only so much room and with sensors included only so much room available for ink. 90 percent of my printing is photos so getting more would be nice. Seems like I should get printer free since ink is so expensive.

    Answer:
1-Are you using the Photo cartridge for the printer?
2-The pictures you are trying to print must have a lot of use for the ink.
3-I would ask a salesman that knows about the printer what kind of ink you should use and find out what the computer says about the number of copies it will possibly print.

It sounds like you do not use your printer every day and the ink is drying out. It's either that, or your son may be printing too much, and
not telling you.. OI would go with my first statement (drying out).

    Answer:
I think that you should return your printer to HP and have them check it out. It could be that the sensor that determines the capacity for the black ink is not working properly.

The 564XL cartridge should print around 500 pages before it needs to be repaced.

    Answer:
What ink does your HP 4620 use? If it uses HP564 than it "should" use the larger package. Ask a salesman in the store where you can purchase ink and machines. They can use their computer and tell you how many pages each toner will make depending on your copies use of toner.

564 XL price is more expensive but prints 2X more pages than the regular 564. It depends on whether you print a lot . I print a lot so I find the 564XL is the best buy for me.

The HP 564XL Black, it's double the ink capacity of the standard 564 black ink cartridge. If you don't want to use color on your spreedsheets and memos, I think that you can use only the black ink cartridge to print but you should read your user manual if you have one or go to HP and download the PDF Manual and verify that all you need is the black cartrige.

    Answer:
Do you have a Black & White printer? My printer came with the black and color ink cartridges. I choose to use the HP 564XL because they will make more copies than the HP 564. I believe that also helps to make it cost effective.

If you have a color printer you may choose to only use the black cartridge on your computer in the Preferences before you tell it to print.

    Answer:
6510 would not work for me so HP replaced it with 6520. I have loved this printer. In the past my printers did not have the capability to copy 2 sides of an original within the printer. I can also scan things and make a
    permanent copy for me.

At this time I have not tried to print photos from my camera or phone. I plan to make them too.

The difference between the HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a (CQ761A) and the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer (CX017A) is that the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer has slightly faster print speeds and HP Wireless Direct Printing capability.
