Case Logic Nylon High-Zoom Compact Camera Cases, Black/Red
Superbly Designed [Case Logic SBC-304]
I recently bought a Canon SX130 (my first ever digital), so I was looking for a camera bag that would hold the cables, batteries, SD cards, and keep the camera safe as well.
Higher-zoom cameras like the SX130 are a bit larger than pocketable compact cameras; many take AAs, so most of the compact cases out there will likely be a tight (or impossible) fit for even just the camera, an SD and 2 spare AAs. If you want to stow the cables, a small battery charger, small accessories, or if your camera is a bit larger and takes 4 AAs then this CaseLogic DCB-304 (or the very similar DCB-303) is a great solution.
The top opens and closes smoothly, which is something I prize--I hate those bags you have to "lay" open and back to close. The back of the main compartment has an open sewn-in pocket that would probably fit a cell phone or an ultra compact digital fairly well. This can be flattened in lieu of a larger camera in the main bay but it's feasible to fit both! The underside of the main zipper flap has a small zipper pocket perfect for memory cards and there is an elastic restraint that naturally keeps the zipper tab for this pocket from dangling against items in the case. Nice quality touch.
The side pockets are surprisingly roomy. If you pack too much into the side pockets it tends to bunch the interior into the main compartment, however. This can be a pro if your camera is around the size of the SX130 since it keeps it from jostling inside or a con if you want to cram other things inside.
As icing on the cake you get a detachable (via clips) shoulder strap, a rugged sewn-on carry-handle, and belt loop at the rear! Overall the case looks sharp, is well-designed, and is very durable. Way to go, CaseLogic!
