Used it for a school diorama and met my needs. Good color for earth tones.

Rated 5 out of 5by CraftingBusyMom Great product for kids
I bought this clay after reading many reviews on similar clays being terrible. The terra cotta clay seemed to consistently have decent reviews. I run an Adopt A Grandparent program for 7-10yo children to do crafts with elderly in a nursing home. The crafts get to be tricky due to timing, ease, and cost. I found this product to be wonderful!
10 kids 7-10yo, 2 kids 5yo, and 1 kid 3yo each made crafts. It was so impressive how well this clay worked. The kids worked with it for up to an hour and a half. They did require to wet the clay with fingers or wet towels in order to get the clay to glue to itself. Some used beads that glued on with water rubbings. Some kids made Christmas ornaments. Some kids just made abstract figures. All of their hands turned reddish brown but it took 3 handwashings and the hands were clean.
The dry time on this was 48 hours. If something was not "glued" with water, the clay dries out and shrinks and falls apart. The pieces that were glued with water absolutely stayed together and looked great. No one tried painting the figures yet but it is supposed to be doable. As this is terra cotta, it dries soft and light reddish brown.
2-3 kids were able to work on projects for 1.5 hours from one 2.5lb tub. Made this a very affordable project. I highly recommend this clay for some fun art!
