Never would handle more than four or five sheets of regular ink jet type paper. Had it for just over a year and the -safe sense- sensor would occasionally sense a "phantom hand" and stop the shredder working until you unplugged it for a while. Eventually, unplugging for a while didn't work.
Fellowes doesn't have over-the-phone support, only email and then you get the same stock answers as in the F.A.Q. section of their web site.
So here we are about fifteen months later, down about $140 and buried in junk mail.
Fellowes is off the list with us.

After researching a variety of shredders, I went with a Fellowes model as they had consistently good reviews. Office Depot had an excellent price on this one as well as incredibly speedy (and free) shipping. The shredder is loud, but particularly for home use, I really don't care. It's solid, and does everything asked of it. I put it through the wringer on the very first day to test it and was quite impressed. Great buy.

Not this brand
We purchased this shredder a while back and it broke. Says there is a 5 year warranty on the blades, and yet the rep from fellows told me it wasn't covered and determined that the blades weren't the problem over the phone in about 12 seconds without even seeing it. Seemed like they were just trying to avoid replacing or repairing it. Won't be buying a fellows model next time.

This is a great machine! And I got it for an amazing sale price.
Keep in mind the machine is only rated to run 5 min continuously.
And it is recommended to oil it every time you empty the bin. This machine was the perfect size for me, and it shreds a pile of junk mail (or bills) in just a couple of minutes.
