Three years ago I bought this chair for the ergonomic benefits. I use the chair daily 8 hours at work. Now three years later the hydraulics are failing to stay in the position l set them in. This is causing me shoulder pain because the high of the chain is lower the than the desk top. I upgraded from my last chair to this chair expecting it to last longer than it has.
It?s very disappointing and now I need to look for another chair for my office.

After 3 years of wear one arm has broken off of the chair. For the price the chair should have last longer. The head rest does not maintain its position.

This chair failed after about a year. The hydraulics began to fade and the seat cushion would not sit properly...I always felt like I was leaning forward and constantly had to lean back. Not worth purchasing.

Rated 3 out of 5by bfsystems Highly Adjustable Airline Seat
I just purchased this chair in efforts to get a more ergonomic, comfortable, office chair for extended usage. Overall, it is less comfortable than my old chair - somewhat dissappointing for a chair rated for "extensive" use in my opinion.
The Maverick mechanism is very high-quality and well constrcted to provide an extensive set of adjustments and controls for all parts of the seat, although the arm rests are too wide at their minimum range (for me). Otherwise, the chair is easily adjustable to fit a wide range of angles and fits.
The lack of comfort is mainly due to the "extremely firm" padding used in makeup of the seat and back cushions, thus my reference to airline seating. For that reason alone, I can not bear to use it for extended periods before my backside goes to sleep - - similar to a 3-hour cross country flight in an economy section middle seat. Also the arm rests are not padded but made of very firm plastic.
Perhaps the leather upholstered version of the chair softer, but I would definitely not rate this chair for "extensive" use.
