See Jane Work Tape Dispenser, White
Adorable, but Defective
I ordered this item because I love the clean lines, and it matches my office well. I was hoping previous reviewers just had a fluke experience. Sadly, when I received it, it looked the same as others had described- cracked, rough edges, and it was leaking sand/ dust out of the cracks.
I returned it and requested a new one, and received it the next day. Very smooth process to return it. But... the replacement had the exact same issue. When I told customer service this, and that I wanted to exchange it for a different brand, they told me to keep this one, they gave me a credit for it, and put in an order the different brand I asked for.
For some reason, the order got cancelled without my knowledge. So I didn't have a tape dispenser, so I ended up using this item, but I had to super glue the seems closed so it wouldn't leak the dust/sand stuff all over my desk. I also had to adjust the metal "teeth" to a different angle in order to cut the tape properly. It works just fine now.
So if you really like the design, and have a little time to play around with it, you can make it work.

I read the other review and kind of shrugged it off thinking they just had a bad copy. The See Jane Work products look great; they're very much my style with very simple, clean designs, but they are definitely poorly made. The edges are peeling and there were smudges all over the product when I received it like it had been used and returned. There isn't particularly anything wrong with it as a tape dispenser, but if you're looking at this product just for the design, I wouldn't buy it again. It looks nice from afar, but it's definitely sloppy up close which sort of defeats the purpose of having a nicely designed desk piece.

I'm not sure if I just received a defected piece of merchandise or what but this tape dispenser is awful. The front lower and back lower, where the bottom half is connected to the body of the dispenser, is terrible. You can see glue and the edges are rough like it had been broken and they tried to put it back together. Looking at the office depot photograph, its clearly not supposed to be made this way.
