Realspace Crosswick Desk, 30H x 48W x 24D, Espresso
Bought this desk as a match for the Espresso bookshelves I had previously purchased and was pleased it had the same quality construction. A very sturdy unit that handled the heavy components I placed on top with ease. I assembled it in about an hour and the end result was a beautiful piece of furniture with a contemporary design that blended in well with the rest of my dcor. Very pleased with this purchase.

Just what I was looking for
I looked at a lot of desks online, but none of them was quite right. I'm so glad I checked Office Depot's site. This desk is in a small bedroom and it really completes the space. I have to admit some of the unwritten instructions were a little. But I pushed through. In the end it was worth it.

A small screwdriver set with hex bits included--if you don't already own one, you probably shouldn't attempt to assemble this desk. Why? Because that's an indication that you don't tackle even simple projects around the house. The only problem I had in putting this desk together was using the release mechanism for the keyboard slides, quickly solved by the very knowledgeable support guy. He explained to this 5' tall granny with arthritic hands how to hold the slide to be able to disassemble it. One of my own hints, gained from personal furniture construction, is to leave bolts and screws slightly loose until all pieces are assembled; that allows enough room for everything to fit and be squared up. Then use that aforementioned screwdriver (instead of the Allen wrench) to tighten everything.
I love the desk, using it for hours every day for a week now. The cord trough keeps cables off the floor and out of sight. The full-width keyboard tray has plenty of room for mouse, notepad and documents, with felt-lined storage compartments for my computer glasses, headphones, etc. It's light enough to move for cleaning. I also purchased the matching bookcase and file cabinet. Surprisingly, the 3/8" glass top bends slightly with the minimal weight that's on it. But I'm very pleased with this purchase. See photo.

Sturdy Desk with Extra-Large Keyboard Tray
This desk measures 30"H x 48"W x 24"D. It has a full-width "keyboard tray" (42"W x 9"D useable space) which for me is convenient because instead of a computer keyboard, I place a 4-octave musical synthesizer on it. There's room behind the keyboard for a lot of other peripherals.
I like the thick glass top since it won't warp and dip like a wood top which means your laptop computer or other gear will always sit flat and not wobble. The steel frame is sturdy as well.
When assembling it, be sure not to over-tighten the screws because if you do, it will be impossible to insert the extra-large keyboard tray, which is one of the last assembly steps. The tray rolls out smoothly without any wobble, even with my 20lb keyboard synthesizer on it. I can play the keys confidently without any noticeable movement.
I've owned this desk for almost 6 months and it hasn't let me down yet.
