D-Link DAP-1320 Wireless N300 Range Extender 3 5 56 56
Unreliable - requires daily restart I was very excited when I first set this up as it worked very well. The configuration was easy, even for non-WPS - there's a web-based control panel where you basically just connect it to your existing wireless network like you would any other device. [I note there are a lot of people complaining about difficulties getting it working - I suspect these people are just confused by having to connect to the device via a browser first. Technical people should have no issues.] Unfortunately when I went to use it the next day, I could no longer connect to it at all - my device (Android Nexus 4) would try to connect but simply fail with no errors. A reboot of the DAP-1320 and it started working again. I came here and noticed there was new firmware, so I updated the firmware (not without hassles - first, it's not clear that the admin password in the web interface is just blank, and second the web interface seemed to randomly stop working, so it took several attempts). The firmware update unfortunately had the same issue - I was able to connect fine and it worked immediately after the firmware update & subsequent reboot. The next morning I was excited because it actually let me connect to the AP properly - but nothing would load after that point, so it seems the problem has just been transferred down stream a little bit. [For any D-link staff reading this: I am happy to try to debug/diagnose this or try beta firmwares. This seems like it should be a simple issue to fix unless there's a crippling hardware fault. Feel free to get in touch. ] September 27, 2014
D-Link DAP 1320 Wireless N300 RAnge Extender Does not work. Was recommended on ATT website, so I bought it. Could not figure out how to make the connections with it. Had ATT technician come to house to get it working. He could not figure it out either. This has been a waste of money for me. August 27, 2014
It doesn't work as indicated, don't waste your money/time. It doesn't work as indicated, don't waste your money/time. August 1, 2014
Works great I read the negatives and guessed they installed the device improperly. I installed it manually (no WPS button) which allowed me to name the DAP-1320 with my current router's name and password. Very nice!! My router is a D-link DIR-625. The range is super. The strength in the backyard apartment improved from 3 bars at the wall nearest my house to 5 bars throughout the apartment. The apartment is 25 meters from the router. I now get 3 bars at 60 meters from the router - the farthest edge of my property. July 28, 2014

Answer:
You would need to ensure that the device meet local wireless regulations. It would also be suggested that you purchase it in Japan, as taking it from the US to Japan could void the warranty.

We thank you for your question as we appreciate you taking the time to inquire about D-Link products. Please note that if you have connected a new WiFi modem to your network you will have to setup the DAP-1320 again to have access if your router configuration and setup has changed. Please visit www.support.dlink.com to view and download the Quick Install Guide needed to show you which options you may use to setup connectivity again to the DAP-1320 depending on whether or not WPS connectivity is available for access. If you continue to have problems or questions with the setup and configuring of the device, please contact D-Link support at 1-877-453-5465. Thank you for choosing D-Link.

Image

Excellent signal coverage. Easy setup. Small size for easy placement.

Extended Excellence.

"The DAP-1320 is one of the best wireless networking devices I've tested from D-Link, and among all of the extenders I've tested, it provided the best coverage. I was also impressed with how well it worked with another vendor's equipment. I'm confident that this little device, which did an impressive job of extending my test Wi-Fi network deployed in a high-rise office building with hundreds of access points all around, will work extremely well for the average home user."

"D-Link Wireless Range Extender gets a 4.5 out of 5 star rating, and is PCMag's Editors' Choice for wireless range extenders."

Why D-Link Wireless N Is Better

This Wireless N Range Extender uses Wireless N technology with multiple intelligent antennas to maximize the speed and range of your wireless signal to significantly outperform previous-generation Wireless G devices. The antennas make use of your home’s environment by bouncing multiple wireless signals off walls and ceilings to work around obstructions and help eliminate dead spots.
