If you've gone through several of the cheapo thin clear vinyl chair mats that dent, crack, roll up, and move around then try this one. It is thick and smooth, lays flat, and hugs the carpet tight. I roll my chair around easily on it and it never moves. Don't be turned off by the black color. I have cherry wood furniture and beige carpeting and the chair mat looks great. Buy this chair mat. It costs a little more but its worth it.

Sturdy Black Mat
I had this mat delivered and it came flat so there were no unrolling issues. Office Depot delivered it to my home the morning after I ordered it for free. It is sturdier than the 2 clear plastic mats I had previously which developed lots of cracks from the chair wheels. The only problems are that it is black which takes getting used to but it does match my chair and my file cabinets, and it is rectangular and does not have the lip that fit under my desk like the previous clear mats. My chair rolls better on this mat than it did on the previous clear plastic mat I had purchased at Office Depot.

Better than the transparent ones
Best product for the price. Would recommend it to others who are concerned about the durability.

Not quite!
Sorry to differ in opinion to the other reviews, but my experience with this mat has been less than satisfactory. It was used over low pile carpet as recommended, but suffered from the dreaded chair indentations that plague cheaper mats. The chair rollers get stuck into ruts in the mat which makes for a very frustrating day. This mat might be fine if the surface it is covering is almost completely flat with little or no padding. If your carpet has even minimal padding, I think you would be better served by a mat with a more dense material. I also have mat SKU # 450424, which is somewhat larger, but it is a truly great product.
