Rated 5 out of 5by Adams Great Service and a Gorgeous Desk
I went to Office Depot to purchase this desk. I knew that it would not be in stores since it is sold only online, but by going in I was able to get free shipping to my house! If you order it online it costs $30-40 to ship. I also used a 20% off coupon; a coupon that Office Depot has quite regularly so I recommend not purchasing furniture without this coupon. I paid only $300, which included the desk, shipping, and the warranty!
It arrived only 3 days later (the fastest shipping on this furniture piece than any other companies that sell it)! The packaging was not damaged and the pieces were surrounded by styrofoam, so it came in perfect condition. Office Depot employees told me that the delivery truck would call me with a time frame of when they'd dropped it off, but they did not. The delivery man told me that Office Depot told me this without it being their policy. However, I did receive a call when they arrived and we arranged a safe place for them to put it since I was not home. They were very accommodating and pleasant to work with.
The desk wasn't any more difficult to build than other furniture, but having two people building it was definitely better than one. We had all the pieces we needed, and everything fit together well.
The desk is built now, and it is just gorgeous! It looks like real wood, but is durable. The wood grain is beautifully natural. The metal bars are durable and have a classy look. It is the perfect centerpiece for my modern-designed office. I HIGHLY recommend this product and purchasing it from Office Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5by AmyH Good desk if you construct it carefully
This is a good desk for the money / class of product, provided you take the time to set it up right. I like the look of it and it seems to have a good amount of space. I had to do a lot of "loosen that screw and scoot that section over a little" to make pieces fit as I assembled it. Make sure you get the cams REALLY tight or the whole thing will probably fall apart. The cams make the difference between solid and wiggly. Count on about 3 hours and 2 people to assemble it.
A few things to know:
-it's heavy. Reeeaaaalllly heavy.
-if it's final destination is a carpeted surface, you will need furniture sliders to move it, as the feet dig into the carpet at different angles and will not budge.
-it is made of particle board with a wood grain texture on top. That is apparently what engineered hardwood means. Assembled it seems sturdy and the surface doesn't scratch as easily as other items of this type, but I plan to be pretty gentle with it, specifically, I wouldn't sit on the desk surface or drag something rough across it.
-The shorter surface is solid and the taller one is hollow (to reduce weight, which is a good thing). They both seem sturdy though.
Overall: if you have to buy a particle board desk for cost reasons, this one is great - good price, great look, solid quality for what it is. If you're expecting something higher quality or real wood, you will be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5by Docstudent Good investment for a doc student
The desk is spacious and allows me to keep all my textbooks in place. I like it's small hutch cause I can keep my things organized and all in one place. I had no issue with putting the desk together, it was actually fun, like playing with Lego.
