I purchased the desk, the desk return and the credenza over 10 years ago for my home office and think it was a great purchase. It still looks great and is very solid.
The only thing is the locking mechanisms have some plastic parts so they aren't very secure.
I would buy the same thing again, even though I don't think I paid this much back then.

The overall design is clean and simple, which is what I wanted, but Sauder doesn't include any extra parts for assembly. $365 doesn't buy you any extra screws or parts -- not one. In fact, I was missing a screw for the drawer rails and one of the Twist-Lock fasteners cracked in half (I didn't overtighten it) so the desk is currently missing these parts. I needed the desk for work the next day, so I completed installation without the parts. I couldn't wait to have the defective parts shipped to me.
One extra part of each type should be included, especially in this price range, for convenience. So, either pray you have all the parts, and none break, or leave time to have replacement parts sent to you.
However, once completed, the desk appears solid (even with one Twist-Lock missing) and the appearance is OK for a particle board/laminate desk.
The only negative appearance-wise is that the Formica-like desk surface picks up fingerprints easily, so if you have light from a side window, for instance, your desktop will need to be cleaned constantly if you don't like smudges. And you'll have smudges again as soon as you use the desk -- like a tablet or cell phone.
I'm disappointed because it seems like Sauder could have spent about $3 more on parts and offered a much better product. This desk is that close to a 5-star rating but the missteps are inexcusable.

I've had this desk and matching return for over 8 years now and I still think it was a great purchase. It looks very nice, has held up very well despite being moved 4-5 times.
Assembly did take 3-4 hours and you do need a bunch of room. Very solid feeling. The locking mechanisms are very cheap (plastic), don't expect them to safeguard valuables.

This desk is delivered unassembled in a flat box, like most Sauder products. It is very heavy and large, so delivery is a must, and you'll need a large working area to organize all of the pieces. Assembly took about 3 hours, but the results are very satisfying. The desk assembled easily, with all of the parts fitting well and nothing broken. It looks great and is a great value as long as you don't mind taking the time to assemble.
