Texas Instruments TI-Nspire? CAS Computer Algebra System Graphing Calculator
This is a wonderful calculator! Although its expensive, it's definitely worth every penny!! The instructions that came with it very clear. The only learning process is of course the key placement. But, it's so easy to figure out and get used to.

The calculator is great and useful! I love how it can give you the answers in scientific notations or fraction forms.

I adore this machine and it's functionality and everyday am amazed at what it can do. Allows me to check my answers to functions other calculators do not, brilliant display, quick drawing graphs. I've been spoiled. One word of caution, however. A fair number of professors do not allow the use of CAS-enabled calculators on exams. I generally check w/ the instructor before-hand, and if s/he says "no," to all CAS calcs. I steer clear. This semester I was blind-sided. After a weekend of frustration learning the TI-84+ Silver, I'll return it -- and purchase the Nspire CX (whose only limitation I've found is how it handles square roots-- enter radical 8, you'll get back a decimal approx), using the CX CAS for other courses.

TI-Nspire CAS Computer
We purchased two of these devices for our twin daughters prior to their starting eighth grade Algebra I. While on the high side of pricing compared to the TI 84, we found the flexibility and graphing capability of the Nspire CAS to far exceed the TI 84. We believe that the Nspire CAS will be their go-to caluator/computer through high school and college math, so we believe the investment will return maximum benefits.
