Cheap business laptop The X230 does what it says but not an inch more. When you lift it up you are surprised how heavy it is, from the plastic materials you would have expected, it to be much lighter. The materials and make are low-end. The power management sometimes fails to restart after sleep. The cover would allow for a much better screen size, rather than this odd shape where you just never see enough on a MS Office document - and wasn't the X230 supposed to be a business tool? With a 16:9 screen? To watch movies or business YouTube clips? Overall I guess you get what you pay for. November 5, 2014
Waste of Money Okay, this computer I do not like. The design is poor and mine is chipped and broken in many places, and I am very careful and respectful with all of my things. The lenovo programs and systems on the computer (i.e. lenovo thinktap) are awful and the price is very unreasonable for what you get - many better computers exist that are cheaper to buy than this one. Excellent Laptop That Still Keeps With the times I bought this laptop brand new through lenovo's outlet center. Loved my X201 but it was getting old. This is a great laptop. A lot of people are bashing the keyboard without giving it a chance. Come on people, we're supposed to be adults, don't knock something till you try it. I can't say the current keyboard is any better than the last style, but it's about as good. If you have larger hands (unlike me) you'd probably even appreciate the extra space. The laptop itself is solid and well built. Battery life (with Linux) hits about 10 hours (medium use, wi fi). The trackpad isn't perfect but it's still quite good once you get used to it.
