I think that these bookcase are just ok, nothing special for the price. They were difficult to assemble as well. One of the front edge piece had to be hammered in place and of course they were damaged in the process. Not at all as sturdy as description. I hope they will stand up to heavy use.

My husband put the book case together. He said it was ok to assemble, that he has put together worse. One screw came through the very top board upon assembly. Looks beautiful. We have alot of books. Bottom shelf holds 50 pounds, stationary middle holds 35 pounds and three adjustable shelves holds 25 pounds each. Keep our fingers crossed that the shelves stay sturdy for our books. I have seen better quality book cases but this is pretty good for the money.

Good-looking, solid bookcase, though a bit over-priced at full retail. Easy to put together, no parts were damaged, and proper alignment takes only an average amount of effort in assembly. Side-trim was very tight, and had to use a rubber-hammer on them -- if I put one of these together again, I'll rub candle wax on the ridges first to see if that helps. I understand that the folded back saves carton size, but also means a crease that is extremely difficult to make disappear. A "premium" bookcase really should have a flat one-piece. Overall though, I have no regrets, and wouldn't hesitate at all to get another one.

Sturdy bookshelf, minor scratches
Sturdy bookshelf, had minor scratches and a broken corner. It was very easy to assemble.
