After printing a letter, do I need to remove the 8 1/2 x 11 paper to print an envelope?

I am looking for a printer which will print on letterhead then without removing any trays or paper, be able to feed an envelope. If you can suggest something, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

No, this printer has a slot in the back for single pieces of paper, like , for instance lables, envelopes, or bulkier pieces that need to be printed on. I havent used this feature yet, but the instructions specify it.

There is a slot on the back of this printer specifically for single pieces of paper, envelopes, or larger pieces that need to be printed..like for lables...it allows you to bipass having to take the trays out and reconfiguring everything.

You can look up the user guide online at hp.com. I did that -- it's an issue for me also -- and you have to pull the tray out, remove all the paper, load envelopes, move the paper guides to the envelope width, replace the tray, and then print. Huge pain! I have a similar printer at work, but I don't have to remove the tray, I just lift the tray lid. I hate it!

I dont think so....You would have to save it to a file on your computer...if you scan it to file...then tell it where you would like it saved....then you can go back to that file on your computer...but you cant save it on the printer itself.

Unfortunately, you cannot save scans directly on the printer. You can scan to a PC or a memory card and save them there.

I have owned brothers, and they are excellent machines. They last and work w/out a hitch for long periods of time; however when I'd bought my 1st one w/the separate cartriges, I was thinking the same thing, that I would only have to really keep in the black for anything, but this is not the case. You will find that with any of the printers (even other brands) that have the separate ink cartriges, even if one needs to be replaced, nothing will print until they are all in working order. They can be low...and it will prompt you, and say, for instance "your Cyan cartrige is low" and it will continue to print; however when it is out out ink, you must replace it, even if all your others are full. For your question, to fax out wont matter...it will still work, but to receive a fax that it has to print out, all of the cartriges must be in and have some life left.

I am printing on mine from laptops using Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and my iPhone. There is an HP ePrint app you have to download to the iPad. This machine also utilizes the HP email print from anywhere option. You create your own e-mail address ending in @email.hp.eprintcenter.com. Then, you can send or forward e-mails to this address. The e-mail and any attachments will print out on the printer. Hope this helps!
