Brother? MFC-4710dw Color Inkjet All-In-One Printer, Copier, Scanner, Fax 3.3 5 59 60
good for the price This printer is quite good but it is much harder to use to print single sheets of labels than my HP Lazar print is not as bright as I am used to getting. November 25, 2014
COULD USE BETTER DESIGN The details for this product make it seem like best thing since sliced bread. No so! Faults: can only do 2 side from feeder, address book not listed alphabetically, cannot immediately continuous feed faxes and store for different address (could do this on prev Brother unit), menus not easily navigated, etc. Just poor design for effective use. My paper doubles feeds causing waste because it partially prints on 2 sheets, same problem with unit this replaced. SD app only allows to print photos, not view and send to computer (as far as I can tell, used once) Apparently Brother has glitches it has failed to correct. November 24, 2014
YES HAVE NOT TRIED ALL OF THE MFC-J4710DW FEATURES BUT FOR NOW THE EASY TO USE TOUCH SCREEN IS MAKES MY PRINTING A REAL JOY. EACH DAY I PICK-UP MORE STEPS THAT KEEPS ME MORE AND MORE A SATISFIED PRINTER. November 11, 2014
Not so great with Ipad/Iphone Airprint I bought this printer as I had previously been very happy with a Brother printer I was using but it wouldn't print via Airprint wireless from my son's iPad or my iPhone. This printer claims to print perfectly from Airprint but what I've experienced is quite the opposite. First off, the manual say nothing about Airprint or how to set it up. Luckily since I work with computers for a living I figured out how to get it to connect with my iPad and iPhone. I had to download an app from the App Store called Brother iPrint and Scan and that did the trick (which the manual never mentioned- I had to do an internet search on iPad and Brother printers), however now every time I want to print I have to turn OFF the printer and my iPad and then turn them both back ON, and then make sure the printer's icon is showing in the iPad. The printer seems to lose it's connection to the iPad (or iPhone) after each usage, so it's really a drag to use, as you have to spend a couple of minutes re-powering and configuring the printer and iPad each time you want to print. If someone else out there has found a better way to get the printer (and iPad) to keep the connection between the devices please let me know but for now the main reason I bought this printer for (wireless printing) has been a big letdown.
