Difficult to Assemble
The file is beautiful....but putting it togather was no fun . At 75 and a little help from my 80 yr old friend, we finally got it togather. But it sure was not easy.

Great price and service
This piece was not originally available when we ordered the set. I went online, found the piece and ordered it late one night. Thirty-six hours later it was delivered. Not only did we get great service at the Office Depot store but service was just as good with online delivery.

Good Value
I was apprehensive about purchasing this file after reading the reviews... but liked the style so I bought it anyhow. If you're looking for a solid piece of furniture with some style and can follow simple instructions... then you should be very satisfied with this product.
The one "knock" I have on the manual and construction of this file is where the shelf sliders attach to the outer wall of the cabinet. There is supposed to be 3 screws on each slider, but the way the slider is put together you can only get 2 in... you'll know what I mean once you start putting this together. I settled for 2 on each slide/wall connection and it seems solid enough. On the same topic, the directions weren't clear on how to disassemble the slider. There is a small black lever which makes it possible to remove the smallest of 3 sections. You will need to do this before you're able to attach it to the cabinet/drawers. That was really the only confusing piece to the directions.
Overall the finished cabinet feels solid, looks good, and holds a lot of files. We're trying to empty our office space to make room for a nursery (yay!) and this piece fits in our living room as a side table with it's dark more expensive wood look. Be patient and take your time putting it together... it really wasn't as awful as reviews might make it seem. I didn't have any misplaced holes or missing pieces. 4 stars because of the slider snafu.
