D-Link? DES-1005E 5-Port 10/100 Desktop Switch 4.5 5 5 6
This is not a switch This is a dumb hub. But pretty good for the price. September 22, 2014
I'm very satisfied. The products meets my needs. It's simple to use. Just plug it in and it's ready to go. April 19, 2014
perfect solution this switch worked perfectly for what it was needed. Wanted to split my employers line so I could have my personal computer hooked up to the net over their secured line. store personnel stated that employed wouldnt be able to tell line had been split unless they saw the actual splitter in my office. also they confirmed that employer could not monitor what I was doing on my own laptop. ethernet wires are not supplied. using cat 6, both lines are superfast one would ever guess the line was split. both computers can surf the net simultaneously. no disk needed, just plug and play. unobtrusive design April 4, 2013
Basic Switch Great Value This product is nothing special but it is cheap. I bought 5 of these to be used as basic switches no frills. They worked great for the limited application I had. I am a professional data infrastructure installer and we needed them to relocate some user temporarily and they have worked great in this application just plug and play. No config issue at all. This would be dependent upon whether or not your DSL modem has a router built-in to it or not. Generally a switch doesn't have a MAC address and the modem would be receiving calls from multiple computer's MAC; and the DSL Modem (if it does not have a router programmed in with it) is not programmed for that as it would not be able to sort out the communications that come in/are received from the switch, as that is the job of a router. If you need additional information please contact either your ISP provider or the manufacturer of the modem for the necessary information. Thank you for choosing D-Link.
