Nice
You get what you pay for. I paid less than $100, so I was not expecting anything high quality. You need a drill, at least I did, for screwing it together, I was just not strong enough with a screwdriver. The directions were a little difficult to understand, had to read them a couple of times to make sure I was doing it correctly. The finished product looked nice, none of my pieces were damaged. It's doing what I needed, hold my books and hides items on the lower two shelves behind the doors.

Just OK
This product "will do" because frankly, I'm not about to try to take it apart and box it up and return it. This bookcase is for my very small office at work, but I would not want it in my home. It is very cheaply made and almost made me crazy putting it together and I consider myself handy.

Looks Great -- Easy To Build -- Cheap --
I have also have the Realspace Magellan desk and these pieces are great looking for the price. Nice and heavy with a very nice veneer on them. Only had the pieces for a few days, but they're great so far!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend at these prices!

Disappointed
Was very excited about this purchase: unfortunately it's going back on Monday (along with all the other matching pieces I purchased). I know this stuff isn't meant to be top quality, however I did not expect that so many of the pieces would be damaged. all the shelves were scratched (one incredibly badly) and one of the cabinet doors had the finish completely chipped off at one corner. The 2nd screw we used to attach one of the brackets dug up the particleboard and destroyed the base.
It's a shame, because it is a nice looking piece, perfect size, etc, and the espresso finish was very elegant looking. f you choose to order and you happen to get an undamaged unit, you may be very happy with your purchase. For me, it wasn't worth another day off work for delivery for a replacement.
