Rated 5 out of 5by RedwoodCat One perfect, other not
I bought 2 of these, and one was perfect, but the other had a piece of veneer that was loose and cracked during assembly, as well a couple of dings on the doors. But at $119/ea, can't really complain.
Regarding assembly, it was very easy for my boyfriend, but beyond me as a petite woman with limited assembly skills. I've assembled lower quality shelves before, but these are heavy with assembly that goes beyond basic screws and nails. Other than the veneer problem, assembly went perfectly on both units with no fudging required other than some fiddling needed to get the doors placed properly. The doors seem a bit too small.
I recommend using the wall mounts, but if you're a renter like me and can't, they are stable enough once loaded with stuff, assuming you don't have children to worry about. With thick carpet, the top of the unit leans back against the wall, keeping it steady.

Rated 4 out of 5by Sparky Large shelving
There are a few things I like about the product. What I appreciate most is that the shelves are adjustable and can be spaced large enough for me to get larger books on them. I also like the lighter wood color which is more contemporary. I like the extra enclosed shelves as well.
There were two issues with it. Some of the trim was not attached well enough and is already coming off. Also, there were no felt bumpers included that would keep the doors from hitting hard when closing.

Easy to put together and looks nice. Gives me more room for the paper and binders I wanted it for. It was a good buy.

Kudos to the manufacturer for an easy-to-follow construction guide, well placed predrilled holes, extra pieces of critical hardware, and a well thought-out design! We use this honey maple, partially covered shelving for organizing pantry and home maintenance supplies. The colored shelves and background minimize the appearance of clutter, while the covered lower shelves keep miscellaneous items out of sight.
Given that this bookcase is not solid wood and not an expensive piece of furniture, it looks great and is well worth the investment.
