Sauder Shoal Creek Executive Desk, 30 1/2H x 65 1/8W x 29 1/4D, Jamocha Wood 3.9 5 39 40
Sauder Shoal Creek Executive desk Matches the bookcase we already had perfectly. July 7, 2014
4 stars Heavy... I'm a fairly strong guy and this thing is pretty heavy. The top is 70# alone, so you will need help assembling this thing. The directions are ok, but a little vague with the drawer installation / assembly. That is why it gets 4 stars. Overall it's a great home office desk, quality is OK, not excellent but it is on par with the price you pay. July 5, 2014
Highly disappointed in quality I needed a new desk for my office and loved the look of this desk. However I am very disappointed with it for a few reasons. First the desk weighed about 200 pounds. Second, it is impossible to put together without at least 2 people. Third, the legs of the desk are terrible quality!! For some reason the drawers are better quality than the legs. The drawers are actually real wood while the legs are pressed wood (ie saw dust pressed together). The legs are so weak and don't properly support the 90 pound top of the desk I had to reinforce them with wood blocks and wood glue to be sure the legs didn't buckle, which they did the first time I tried to stand it up. All in all I love the look but it's very poor quality and I will not buy another product made from this brand again. June 28, 2014
This is the desk for professional and sleek style I received the desk on time, so that was a plus. I read the instruction manual as instructed and if it wasn't for that, and familiarizing myself with the screws and parts, I would have been lost. The only part that could cause some trouble is the side rails for the drawers, they come put together and when they need to be put in place they have to be taken apart simply by pushing a small black plastic lever inside If it hadn't been for me accidentally realizing this came apart I would be confused. The desk took roughly 5-6 hours to put together but overall, I am really happy with the way it turned out and the price also makes it worth talking about to friends and family. June 16, 2014

Answer:
You would need to put the CPU under the desk or next to it and you could defenatley put the modem and and anything else you needed on top of the desk. this desk is huge. I have the matching hutch and I feel the picture is misleading because this desk is nearly 5ft long and 21 inches wide to give you an idea i am able at anytime to have my large printer (22in) laptop (18in) and text books open on my desk and thats with the hutch.

There is no space for a cpu, you can always include the router and modem in on of the spaces on the hutch. But there is no space for the CPU

Answer:
No you have to store the CPU either under the desk or to the side. Under the desk is better because the cables can be drawn to the proper holes

No the CPU cannot fit in any of the cabinets, the router and modem could if you not using WiFi, if you are you do not want a WiFi router that close to you. The instructions state to keep those around 25 feet from people. do to health risks.

The drawers on the Sauder Shoal Creek Executive Desk, 30 1/2"H x 65 1/8"W x 29 1/4"D were not designed to accommodate a CPU tower. The drop down keyboard drawer has a hole in the drawer back for cord access. The desk top has a grommet hole for cord management.

I need to attach a monitor stand to the back of the desk and so it has to have an overhang. Is the top of the desk flat against the back or is there an overhang? If so, how deep is the overhang?
