as advertised this is exactly as advertised and the quality exceeds the price for "you assemble" office furniture. Assembly was easy, no complications. July 5, 2014
Office Bookcase I Like the quality of this product. For the price I think the quality is very good. Some of the parts were not labeled and the directions for adjusting the door hinges leaves something to be desired. But after a little trial and error I was able to figure it out. But I am an engineer and I feel that someone less proficient might get very frustrated installing these doors and getting them lined up properly. But I would purchase this brand/line again. Nice looking and great value Purchased bookshelves for my home office. Assembly took about 2 hours. Nice and sturdy, though backing is cardboard. Happy with the result. March 1, 2014
Great Style This bookshelf has a nice contemporary look to it. It will take some time for the average user to assemble. It helps to spread out all of the pieces and have them readily accessible. June 24, 2013

Answer:
The bottom of the Sauder Shoal Creek Library With Doors does not have drawers, but rather two doors that open to reveal a hidden storage area. The doors have faux fronts that give the appearance of four small drawers.

The legs are actually attached to the sides of the shelving unit. They are however 5.5" from the ground to the bottom of the two doors.

Answer:
There are no "legs" - just the bottoms of long pieces that run from the top of the bookcase. Could you saw these off? Yes. At the bottom of the doors, there's about a 5" clearance to the floor. But, if you saw this off, the whole unit will probably be even more wobbly. And, you have to have some clearance from the floor for the doors to open.

Does anyone know what material is used for the back panel, cardboard, plywood, Masonite, etc. In the past with assemble-it-yourself bookshelves I've encountered paper-thin painted cardboard that you have to staple in sections. It looks good when first put up but when the time comes to move it the back portion is so flimsy it comes right off. Or over time it begins to warp and look cheap. Thanks.

Cardboard but it is very sturdy cardboard and you install it with nails. It's not a typical cheat layer of cardboard.
