Rated 5 out of 5by RaeRae467 Amazing pen! Worth every penny!
Writes great, customers love using it, and I love the sleek style.

The barrel is too thin making it difficult for me to hold.

I've owned and used one of these Cross Classic Century pens for over 30 years. I'm a physician and I write with one almost every day, and carry one around with me virtually everywhere I go--it's become one of the (many) jokes about me among friends.
Obviously, I like this pen--no, I love this pen...but it isn't for everyone. I like the diameter (it's slender), but then I've used one so much it's almost a part of my body. If you're used to writing with something fatter, you may not. As to the criticism about the pen being a waste of money because it ran out of ink quickly, some of the Brand X refills are junk. You may not get what you pay for, but you almost always pay for what you get. Want a bargain? Look elsewhere.
The clip is effective in holding the pen from falling out of a pocket, for example, but if abused it will stretch, and not hold onto what it used to. In other words, take care of it and it will last indefinitely, for you--or for someone else, which leads me to another downside.
These pens have legs. In 30 or so years I'm sure I've bought 20 or 30 of them. You may say that I don't hold onto them, but believe me, I do my best. It kind of depends on who "borrows" your pen. Most people would rather not think of a pen as anything more than something lying around that writes, and they expect that the $30 pen they borrowed is no different. If you are one of these people, then don't buy an expensive pen. Buy a box of Bics.
Don't get me wrong, I mean absolutely no disrespect to people who use cheap pens. Most people do, and get along just fine--probably better than those of us who worry about where our pens have gone. All I'm saying is "know yourself". If it matters to you what you write with--as it always has for me--then buy a pen you love and don't loan it out. That's the reason I rate this pen as excellent, but I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone, particularly to all the friends who borrowed my pen and promptly lost it themselves.

Rated 1 out of 5by Cassie Should have purchased a Bic.
I bought this as a 'Congrats on your Promotion' gift for a co-worker. A week later I asked if I could use his pen and try it out. I too have a different Cross Pen and I love it. When I went to write with it, it doesn't write. The ink is almost empty and you have to make a heavy effort to get anything legible on paper. Very disappointed. Waste of money.
