My first thoughts were holy cow that's a big pack of toilet paper for only 6 rolls!
I am a mom to two young kids and getting a toilet paper strong enough to hold up to their needs without using the whole roll by the end of their wiping has been difficult. Not to mention the hubby, who I believe has a serious problem with repeatedly wiping when doing his business, the toilet paper goes quick no matter what toilet paper I have purchased in the past so I was super excited to see how Charmin Basic would stack up.
I have to say it exceeded my expectations! Those 6 rolls are still holding up and it's been over 2 weeks! Normally we would go through about a roll every 2 days, so I have definitely been won over on Charmin Basic.

When I first received these I wondered how the review would be. We switched the bathrooms over to these so that I could see if any one noticed any difference between this and the regular brand. I personally noticed they were quite strong and very soft. The only comment the family made was that it was "very soft"

Rated 5 out of 5by beyondbaffled Charmin Basic is my new brand!
My usual method of buying toilet paper until now has been to collect coupons from the Sunday paper and then browse the sales ads to find what brand had the best deal that week. I think I was a bit skeptical at first about trying out Charmin - after all I thought is there really a difference between brands? I was pleasantly surprised when the BzzAgent package arrived and I saw those 6 enormous rolls - once again I had only been expecting a small package with maybe one trial size roll. Even David was surprised when he saw the size of the Charmin roll and he suspected that it would not fit on our toilet paper holder, but it did! From my picture (pardon the quality as it is a phone pic) you can see that we were using Scott Ultra Soft when the Bzz package arrived. This has always been my "fall back" brand as it was the one my mother used while I grew up. Only she never used "ultra" or "soft" or "two-ply" just the basic one-ply roll that seemed to last forever. I only started branching out after David complained about the rough feel of regular Scott. From the picture you can see how the Charmin Basic roll towers over the Scott Ultra roll. Charmin has more sheets per roll, but is still a one-ply paper. Testing the two rolls with my hands both were soft, but I was surprised when Charmin was definitely the softer of the two. But the real test would be in the bathroom, right? So we traded out rolls and decided to give it a try. This is where I can say that the Charmin Basic was "bottom approved!" I couldn't get over how soft and thick the one-ply sheets were. I was actually able to use less sheets than with my Scott Ultra - anyone with a finicky septic system will understand why. And the best part by far was how long the roll lasted. There are two active working adults living here, plus a multitude of friends who come over for game nights and the first roll last nearly a week. A week! We are constantly changing out empty rolls in our household - there is nothing worse that sitting down to find an empty roll! Even if the Charmin Basic had only been equally as soft as my Scott Ultra I think the size of the rolls would have sealed the deal for me. As the package states 6 Charmin Basic rolls equal 18 regular rolls - to me that means not having to change the roll 3 times as often! Our bathroom is tiny (very tiny!) so we tend to leave toiletries and linens in a closet and refill them as needed so this was a huge bonus to me.
I will also say that I found the price of Charmin Basic to be a positive factor as well. Since I do quite a bit of couponing it was easy for me to start comparing prices right away, long before we had used all 6 rolls. Based on the amount of sheets per roll Charmin Basic is comparable to the Scott Ultra in price and also to many 2-ply rolls that have less than half as many sheets as well. The high value coupon that was included with this campaign through the website basically sealed the deal for me. I will be looking for Charmin coupons in the newspaper and online because of this campaign and I will continue buying this brand!

With a name like basic I was expecting it to be just that, basic. I was pleasantly surprised to find that while it did not have all that fancy quilting and it wasn't overly plush it was still soft and pretty durable. These rolls are very large so they lasted quite awhile even though I did have to use slightly more than the toilet paper I was currently buying.
