Sauder Heritage Hill Double-Pedestal Desk, 64 3/4W, Classic Cherry
Nice executive desk
I wish i could rate 4.5 stars. It's not quite a 5 star product. But for the money, it's a pretty good desk. Obviously it's made of your run of the mill mass produced recycled press board material. But if you were getting solid wood you'd pay well into 4 digit prices for a desk this size. Even though it's mdf press board, it's engineered well so that it holds together pretty well and solid as long as you don't strip out any screw holes. One plus side to the press board is weight savings. If this thing was solid cherry or mahogany it would weigh a ton. Fully assembled, two people can pretty easily muscle it around and move it. I will say that assembly takes up some time. I am really mechanically inclined, have endless amounts of tools and have built desks from scratch before and it took me almost 4 hours to assemble myself. For the not so inclined or motivated... I would give it a full day. A second set of skilled and motivated hands and a few extra cups of coffee then I'd say this thing can definitely be put together in a couple hours. Line up was pretty good on the unit I picked up. All the drawers and slides have elongated notches to realign and readjust as needed. I was able to get every drawer perfect. Oh, directions say use a hammer... DON'T use a regular steel headed hammer on anything on this desk for assembly.. do yourself and your brand new desk a favor and use or go out and get one if you don't already have... a RUBBER mallet. You will destroy every assembly part and panel on this thing if you go wackin it with a metal hammer. Other than that, directions were fairly straight to the point and easy to follow and understand. Especially if you've ever put stuff like this together before. It looks nice, feels like a professional feeling desk. I would highly recommend this in a home or even a small business office.

Another fine Sauder Product
Read all the comments about being too complicated, lots of parts, well
there are a lot of parts, but if your handy and can read instructions, take your time, all the parts were there, no damage in transit, and the finished desk (after about 6 hours of assembly by one person, was very worthwhile. I love it! Lauder make good furniture affordable ! I should mention that the carton weighs in at about 187 lbs, so you want to assembly the desk close to where you want it, as it has to flipped over, and that takes some muscle!

I purchase Sauder furniture a majority of the time. This desk was one of the easiest pieces to put together. Took about an hour. Instructions were easy to follow. More than enough screws were sent and the way the hardware was packaged was a wonderful idea - each instrument was in its own packaging. Did not have to separate anything!!

Difficult assembly and poor alignment
This is a good looking desk however it comes in one very large box with many parts. I had two issues, the drawers did not line up. During assembly the instructions were not the best and not all of the parts are marked. The second issue was the drawer rails, I have one that just does not work.
It took me about 8 hours to put this together, some of that time was trying to figure out the instructions.
