    Rated 3.8 out of 5by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5by Very Nice Looks like real wood - went together nicely. July 13, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5by Looks nice Nice appearance; takes time to assemble; very flimsy cardboard backing which takes away from the otherwise good quality of the bookcase. June 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5by Cherry colored shelf Easy enough to put together, looks great June 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5by Sauder Heritage Hill Open Bookcase Several of the pieces that decorate the front of each shelf are cut too short thus giving the bookcase an unfinished appearance or a cheap appearance. Supposedly regularly 139.00 but bought on sale for 99.99. I don't think it was worth the 99.99. If I weren't in need of the bookcases I would send them back. Backboard folded to fit into box makes the backing cheap looking. However without the backing the material states it would not be a supported bookcase. March 16, 2015

    Answer:
Yes two or more can be set up side by side. The trim does not prevent that. The parts come with a latch to hook the units together at the top.

Absolutely. AS a matter of fact the unit comes with a bracket to attach two bookshelves together to maximize stability and make it look like one large bookcase.

I had six of these side-by-side and they fit perfectly. They come with little hooks (for lack of a better word) to connect the tops together if you want. They look beautiful when placed together. One thought, mine were on ceramic tile, I am not sure if there would be any issues if you have them on carpet.

Can we purchase additional shelves? Would this affect the structural integrity of the bookcase? (I would think more cross-bracing would help but you never know!) We want these for mass market paperbacks and I think we should be able to fit 6 adjustable shelves in and have them be the perfect height. Thanks!

    Answer:
The item is sufficiently strong for our purposes. However, if heavy items were placed on shelves there could be a problem.. According to the item's literature there is a 44 pound limit to each shelf. Too many heavy books on a shelf could be a problem but that is not what we intend to put on each shelf. If one wants a heavy duty bookcase perhaps it's best to look elsewhere. I do not know if additional shelves are available but I suspect not.

I do not want to see a lot of holes-I know something is needed- to adjust the shelves- but I also read that this unit uses a bracket-does that make a difference in the amount of holes throughout the bookcase? I really like this bookcase. It is not in any store in Austin to see for me to see for myself. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

    Answer:
There are holes on the inside of the piece, for the adjustable shelves. Not all the shelves are adjustable. 3 of them. Its not very obvious, and you can buy little round covers at a hardware store.
