Best Looking Bookcase for the price!
Excellent quality and craftsmanship! I love the cherry color for an office workspace. It makes it look like that high-end office that you find with a laywer. It has a differing grain finish that never repeats itself on the same panel. Therefore, it looks like genuine wood. I highly recommend this one to everyone!

Very Nice Bookcase!
I am very picky when it comes to office furniture. Overall, this is a good looking bookcase. I really like the Classic Cherry finish that gives it a rick look to any office. I highly recommend this Bookcase and the whole Sauder Heritage Hill Collection to make all pieces match.

Not as well made as desk
We purchased this bookshelf to complement the desk (which is gorgeous). The quality of the bookshelf is not quite as refined as the desk. The back of the bookshelf is the usual "woodgrain cardboard," but after the installer finished, it remains bowed in a couple of places in the back. Quite noticeable from the front when empty. Also, the doors on the bottom do not have any type of magnetic closures to secure them shut, which seems rather cheesy. The alignment of the pieces on the bookshelf is also not as perfect as the desk. Overall a good looking unit, but not great. As an aside, I would highly recommend having any of these items professionally assembled. The desk took the installer the better part of a day to assemble; the bookshelf took about 3 hours.

Beautiful design and detail
Very pleased with the bookcase. The design and detail is usually found in a much more expensive bookcase. It was easy to construct. The hinges were designed so well and easy to align. It would have been nice to have a more sturdy backboard. The woodtoned cardboard brings the quality down a notch.

According to the Instruction Manual for the Bookcase, it states that all the Adjustable Shelves can hold a load of 25 pounds. The Adjustable Shelves are the top 2 that are visible, and the middle one that is behind the doors and not visible. Then the third shelve from the Top is not adjustable and can hold 40 pounds. The last base shelf can hold 50 pounds. The very top shelf cannot hold items. You state the weight per shelf is 40 pounds, but fail to mention the shelf thickness. My experience is that Cabinet grade wood (poor choice of definition) bows as it is exposed to humidity and temp changes unless the shelves are close to 3/4 inch thick.
