Rated 5 out of 5by Mannakin GREAT PEN, BUT........
I have been using Zebra pens since High School (no, not 5 years ago....more like 25 years ago). I discovered them in the bookstore at the local university in the town where I grew up and I've been hooked ever since.
My job (for almost 20 years now) is in Administration in the U.S. Navy and believe me, I write a lot! Most of my writing has been with Zebra F-301's. I love them! I don't like this trend of having FAT pens....YUCK! The sleek and stylish F-301 fits my hand nicely and writes like a dream! With that said, I have almost NEVER used anything else.....until recently.
My wife is a thrifty person. Actually, she's a Coupon Wizard! She finds coupons for almost EVERYTHING! I think if she had looked when we were buying our house, she probably would have found a coupon online for that, too! Anyway, she found a coupon for Zebra G-301's. This is the maternal twin to the F-301. It looks EXACTLY the same.....fits exactly same.....gets occasionally "borrowed" from my desk exactly the same......but it isn't the same. Oh, no! It's really quite different. The G-301 makes it's mark (excuse the pun) when you put it to paper. It writes even more smoothly than my trusty F-301. It's amazing! I love it! We bought 3 more because, as I said before, it get's "borrowed" from my desk just like my F-301. I've already had one taken. *sigh*
I only have ONE complaint about the G-301. I have only had my G-301 for about 3 weeks and it has already run dry! My F-301 goes on for 2-3 months before needing a refill....but already I'm shopping on here looking for refills. Did I mention that they run out fast! Wow! I can't say that it's a deal breaker.....because they really do write beautifully.....but it is at least worth noting. Is this a gel pen thing? I don't know. I've never used a gel pen before.....because I was too busy worshiping my F-301's.
If you are looking for a precision writing instrument that feels like a dream (and you don't mind replacing every now and then when someone "borrows" yours), then buy this pen! Just make sure to get plenty of refills!!
(PS - Just a curious note....the gel ink in the G-301 is clear until it hits the paper. How cool is that???)

Rated 5 out of 5by Tommy Excellent Pen, but One Small flaw
I have been using F-301s for a while (10 years at least). I love them. However, on occasion I have had the opportunity to use a Gel-Ink pen and I love the way they write. Smooth ink flow, true color and the writing just looks crisp. Most of the ones I have used I wasn't too fond of usually due to ergonomics. They never fit my hand well. F-301s have always felt amazing! When I discovered Zebra had a gel version of the 301, I jumped on it. This pen is perfect. I love it. It has all the excellent attributes of gel ink with awesome design of a 301!
My only complaint is due to my work environment and is really a flaw of gel pens in general. Not just this one. I work in Steel Fabrication as an Inventory Manager and dirt, rust, and dust of all kinds comes with the territory. 90% of my responsibilities require paperwork and a good pen. When the paperwork comes from our fabrication shop, which most of the paperwork that comes across my desk does, it is rarely a nice clean crisp page after be handled by saw operators or CNC machinists. When trying to write on such a page, Gel pens can struggle. Ink wont flow as smoothly and may not mark consistently. This often bugs me to no end but I love the way gel pens write so I just put up with it. Only old-school rollerballs seem to stand up to the kind of dirt I have to deal with.
Minus the dirt issue, this is probably the best pen I have ever owned and will always keep one handy no matter where Im at. I do still keep a small stash of F-301s just in case.

If you are familiar with check thievery, identity theft or similar problems, you also should be made aware by law enforcement that ONLY a gel pen should be used to write a check as it cannot be "washed". This is an excellent choice.
