At the time I ordered this item, and as I write, The Office Depot description says "Heavy 60-lb paper feels thick and impressive." That's why I bought it, because certificates that come in packs of 100 for under $10 usually are thin paper. However, it is nothing like 60-lb paper, at least by the standard way copy paper is measured. Standard copy paper is 20-lb, meaning 2000 sheets of size 8.5" x 11" weighs exactly 20 lbs. On this basis, using my postal scale, I would say that this paper is 22lb, and it definitely is thin, not thick. 60-lb would be card stock weight, which is what I was hoping for. I am happy to use this paper despite being misled, but Office Depot should fix its description (the package itself does not claim that the product is 60-lb, so I don't know where Office Depot got its misinformation). Next time I will probably go back to Gartner 100 packs, such as item #1525492, which doesn't have such fine-grained border printing, but is about 24lb weight and typically sells for several dollars less. When I do want heavy weight certificates, looks like I will have to buy them in packs of 12, 15 or 25, at a considerably higher price per sheet. (But warning: some of those packs also are thin paper; you are paying for the pseudo gold leaf.)

We use these for those who complete our literacy tutor training and the combination of blue border with golden rays watermark make it special for a certificate.
