Great Calculator With Three Memories This is an inexpensive scientific calculator, which is what I wanted when I bought it a few years back. It has three memories which you could use for shopping or to remember the amount in your checking account. I carry it in my purse and use it when I go shopping. If you save the total to memory and the calculator shuts off, you can turn it back on, recall the memory, and the amount will still be there. That's something that doesn't work well on a normal calculator (especially a solar one), so that's why I needed a scientific one. To use the percentage you have to hit the 2nd function button which takes some getting used to if you've never used one like that before. I don't use it for advanced math, but I love it because of the three memories. September 22, 2010
Perfect for General Chemistry Student This is the calculator I tell my students to use, it does everything they need it to do for General Chemistry, it's easy to use, durable (I've dropped mine to the concrete floor in classrooms dozens of times over the years and it still works) and it's inexpensive. many students prefer it to their TI-83 because it's smaller, lighter and you don't have to fight through a lot of menus to do the simple math you need to do (plus you aren't allowed to use a programmable calculator in Chemistry courses anyway) June 3, 2010
