I bought it online and it arrived next day as promised. I actually ordered two and they came boxed individually for some reason. That seemed like a bit of a waste, but oh well. When I unpackaged them, I realized there are two sides, one smooth and the other textured. Without instructions or having seen one in person, I wasn't sure which side faces up. A simple diagram or sentence would have solved this dilemma. The product is exactly as advertised though and is holding up well. I would recommend it to other prospective buyers for that reason alone.

The Deflect-O Clear Polycarbonate Chair Mat has been great these last few weeks for my new hard floors. I have been rolling all around on it and it keeps my floors clean, scratch free and looking good. A reviewer for a larger mat mentioned that one side is smooth and the other side is bumpy. This is somewhat true. One side is smooth, which I decided to put down on the floor. The other side is not bumpy, per se, but more like a light texture that is hardly noticeable. I would feel perfectly comfortable putting the textured side down on my floors, but I decided to leave this side up since it helped my chair roll less than the smoother side. My recommendation is to play around with both sides up/down to see which side suits you best since there are no instructions from the company as to what they recommend for the floor side vs. the chair side. A note on the "clear" factor for those who care: it is not perfectly clear. Rather, it has a slight foggy look to is because of the textured side. This doesn't bother me--it is a chair mat! But if you are looking for a perfectly clear mat that you can see your floor through, then this one isn't it. However, it is a great mat that gets the job done and keeps your wood floor looking like new! Also, if you move the mat out of the way for company, etc., then you will want to put it under the bed. It doesn't roll up like many mats. This mat is thick and comes in a large flat box. It is nice because you don't have to wait for the kinks to work out, but you also cannot roll it up to move it out of the way.
