Brother DR-110CL Drum Unit 3.9 5 9 14
correct part original oem part not a remanufactured unit that doesn't last September 22, 2014
Oh, Brother! No problem installing or using. As I haven't used it for very long, can't tell you how the cartridge lasted. January 9, 2012
arrived in a reasonable amount of time, was easy to install, and has been working well December 8, 2011
DOES NOT LAST I'm ordering my third drum unit on a 3-year old printer. I know I'm going to get a "replace drum" message soon because it leaves streaks of ink on the edge of the paper when it starts to go bad. I have a home office, but there is NO WAY it's lasting for the number of copies it says it should. The first replacement drum I ordered was defective and caused so many problems with my printer, I thought it needed repairs. I replaced the drum unit when it alerted me to... suddenly the printer worked fine again. That means you can spend a huge wad of cash on something that is defective to begin with - not my idea of quality. I buy high-yield toner cartridges and I've estimated that for every two sets of color cartridges I buy, I have to replace the drum unit. Ridiculous. I tell people about how expensive it is to have a Brother MFC-9840CDW printer and they look at me like I'm crazy. Know why? Because most people can own a printer for years before they have to replace the drum unit. All I can do is cross my fingers that this expensive drum unit won't be defective this time. What choice do I have unless I want to replace the whole printer? BTW - to the reviewer who replaced the drum and still had the change drum msg: you have to reset the drum counter (see menu) or the printer doesn't "know" you've replaced the drum. May 26, 2011
