Its does not provide what company offer
I order it for my office's printer. I never get more than 560 pages despite the company offers to print 1,200 pages.

some pointers
After the starter cartridge, I went through one "real" cartridge. I know it went through at least a ream of paper, some two-sided. How are people keeping count, is there something in the printer software for that?
Two things I can pass along: 1) If you read the manual, you can adjust how long the printer stays "awake" after printing; I set mine way down to only 2 minutes. 2) In Windows, I set my default Printing Preferences for the printer to "Toner Save Mode" (Advanced tab). I only uncheck that setting for jobs where I really want the best appearance, which is rare, since I find the toner save mode looks quite good.
So I'm neutral on the cartridge life issue; I think in the long run I'm saving vs inkjet, and haven't tried other lasers. My bigger complaint is it runs out with no warning, which means I always have to have a spare cartridge.

Far fewer pages than claimed
I agree with all the other reviewers. I even print on the Save Toner setting and got a third to half as many pages as I was supposed to get!

First Toner Included with Printer is "Starter"
I was looking for a fairly basic printer and scanner that also had wireless capabilities. And I found it in my Brother 2280DW.
The toner cartridge that comes with the printer is called a "starter," which is clearly stated on the printer box and in the documentation. The yield of the "starter" cartridge is only 300-400 pages (if I remember correctly), so you can expect to have to buy another soon. The printer does not come with the "standard" cartridge. I am just now replacing my starter toner with a standard cartridge - I hope I get close to the estimate, since I did with the starter one. Guess we'll see.
