Good cheap tablet While this is certainly not an iPad, it is a useful tablet at a very good price. The response of the touch screen is often slow and sometimes requires considerable pressure, but the picture quality is excellent. It is a little thick and heavy, but not too bad. The sound through the speaker is not too good, but fine through the headphone jack. September 22, 2014
Amazing office tablet for the price Being a teacher, I was looking for an entry level tablet, with miniHDMI connection (something hard to find in tablets) without spending a lot of $ as I was not sure how a tablet would really work for my uses. This tablet has exceeded my expectations right out of the box. First it set up like a charm. It located my WiFi and gmail accounts, chrome account (with my precious bookmarks), and calendar effortlessly. The touch screen and virtual keyboard is responsive, and I have had no trouble typing with it...which is something I was concerned about since I generally do not do well with virtual key boards. This one types well for me without a lot of mis-keyed letters, something I can't do with smart phones (including the iconic iPhone...I use a QWERTY slide out Android). Streaming from Youtube has been instant and flawless. The sound is weak-ish, especially if you cover the speaker which unfortunately is on the back side, but it is reasonably audible. I will either connect to some mini speakers or use head phones if I need it to be heard over background noise. As I wanted to go smaller in size (since I didn't want to approach reproducing my laptop by getting a 10in tablet), I was concerned that the 7 inch screen, while light in weight and bulk, would be too small. But the screen is large enough to watch videos pleasantly and big enough for one on one tutoring sessions. The clarity is amazingly good, and while some, there isn't too much "off coloring" at an angle as some screens can have. For larger classroom use, I plan to use the HDMI tv connection to run video streaming. It surfs Google quickly and effortlessly, even with several tabs open, the dual core processor acting crsiply, downloading larger webpages and documents quickly... an important feature as I teach debate club where we do a lot of internet research in class. Amazingly this little tablet has pre-loaded Google scholar which immediately put me into peer reviewed material and court cases. Perfect for scholarly evidence finding. The most amazing thing is that this tablet also has pre-loaded Microsoft Mobile Office Pro! While I "could" create and edit new presentations and documents on the tablet, and may in a pinch, I do not see that as really practical without connecting it to a manual keyboard and mouse (for me at least)....which I should be able to do with the microUSB... However, I was able to immediately email myself a current powerpoint and bring it up in that application and RUN it! I have been researching about how you can use a tablet with mini-HDMI to connect to a tv or powerpoint projector to run presentations...and I REALLY wanted to use a tablet for that purpose having tired of lugging a laptop with all my other teaching material. Since I haven't got my cable yet to connect with the TV I can't vouch for how that works...but another reviewer says they have had no troubles playing full screen from this tablet with the HDMI, so I am believing I may have found a terrific bargain. The battery had charge out of the box, but expired after about 2 hours of use...probably expected since they rarely come fully charged out of the factory. However I won't be surprised if battery life is shorter than the promised 6 hours. While I can't praise the tablet for longevity, having only had it for a day or so, it certainly has proven itself right out of the box. September 19, 2014
Satisfied despite a glitch Have had this tablet for about a month and love it. everything works perfect except screenshot function . When you press power button and volume down simultaneously it takes a screenshot. Mine works fine except when I take a screenshot of a youtube comes out black (no pic) as if the screen was blank with no video. Can someone check if theirs is doing the same..everything other than youtube video can screenshoot just fine. September 8, 2014
Very Basic This is a very basic tablet, but for $49 is does work albeit a bit slow. Was a gift for my grandson (7) and thus far he loves it as it plays all his favorite games and has all of the apps he uses in school. If you're looking for performance in a tablet spend $300+ and get a Samsung Note or Ipad mini. But for a kid you can buy 6+ of these for $300.. August 21, 2014
