First let me say that I have no problem with the Sauder brand as I have purchase numerous models in the past. They are generally well-engineered and go together easily. Instructions are well written.
This particular model has a top that slides open to reveal a storage compartment. The pieces making up the top did not fit well at all and left an uneven surface (when closed). The gap around the sliding section was overly large in my opinion. I measured about 3/16" to 1/4" on the back and sides. A gap of 1/16" to 1/8" would have been acceptable. This wide gap is not apparent on any of the website photos although a top down view was not available.
After re-checking my assembly I discovered no problems - everything else fit tight as expected.
My conclusion is that either the design is flawed or some parts were cut incorrectly. The product was returned for credit.

This item was better in the picture than it is once put together. The parts were not all labeled so we had to guess what went where. The directions were not the easiest to follow and the two front doors no matter how we adjusted the hinges did not meet the way the picture shows. There's a gap and when adjusting the hinges, they fell apart. For the money, it was definitely not worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5by roadjungle Does NOT work well with others in same collection.
I purchased the unit with the hope it would fit in with the shelf and desk of the same collection. It does not. As a loan piece of furniture it may be OK. It does have a unique design. If you are hoping it will hold your printer, CPU or other electronic cables and wires and hide the wires to your desk or other equipment it will not. It does not work well with others in the collection simply because any equipment you put on it has to have visible cables to your desk or other pieces of furniture. I wish I had taken more time to evaluate my home office arrangement prior to purchase. On the positive side I have had it a year and I have never tried to return it because I just know I will find a purpose for it once I get my all in one computer. Like I said it is a very unique piece of furniture if used by itself and the user has an imagination to utilize the heavy weight capacity slide out adjustable shelving. I was going to rate it two stars but after some thought and finishing this review I will move it up to a solid 3 stars if utilized as a single stand alone piece of furniture.

Rated 4 out of 5by Ruth the Organizer Very nice!
Very attractive but plan to allow plenty of time 4+ hours to assemble. Was looking for a storage unit to hide lots of stuff and this does the trick. Also, serves as a computer desk. Also, handle the pieces carefully as they can scratch rather easily.
