smears ink I had high hopes for these and bought them in both blue and black. The ink smears badly and excess ink builds up at the tip of these pens. I am so frustrated trying to find a decent pen. September 5, 2012

Does not write well This pen smears terribly. The ink gums up at the tip and makes large blots on the page. The line is inconsistent - thick and thin depending on how much ink is congealed at the tip. Reminds me of the eraser-mates from the '80's, only worse. October 5, 2011

GREAT Pens Wow, these ARE awesome pens. First off, I'm a perfectionist with a bit of OCD, I'm lefthanded, and I'm in law school. I need a dependable pen that writes smoothly and clearly because I don't like messy documents. I wanted a pen that won't smear because I always get smeared words and a black smudged side of my hand (lefthanders know what I'm talking about). I used to use Papermate for Breast Cancer (the pink ones) and I thought they were good at not smearing even though they did a little but these don't AT ALL. And then as far as being a law student goes, if I'm going to having these in my hand a lot then I'm fine with that because they're super lightweight and comfy. I usually never write reviews for anything, especially for just pens and when my keyboard is broken on top of that, but everyone needs to buy these pens so that they never get discontinued. August 8, 2011

Great Pens I need ballpoint pens instead of gel pens to fill out forms with carbon copies (deposit slips, etc.) but don't want to feel like I'm using a cheap pen. This is the best of both worlds. The only negative is that the ink tends to congeal a bit at the tip, which means that the first time I use it each day can be a tad bit messy. July 7, 2011

I haven't had a problem with buying refills for my Zebra fine point pens. They usually keep them in stock at every Office Depot I have gone into.
I LOVE these pens and have been using them since 1990. I have purchased the compact Zebra too but I don't see that sold anymore. It is great for my purse and pocket but the best thing is that it uses the same refill as my regular Zebra pen. Mechanical pencil is also my favorite for my office and pleasure (Sudoku).
