A Great Program I love Rosetta Stone. By itself, it's a very good way to learn French but it helps if you have just a little bit of French background beforehand. Either way, for the people who give this program low marks because it's "too hard," you simply aren't paying attention to the pictures and you're not using your powers of deductive reasoning. Go slowly, pay attention, and you won't fail at this. May 12, 2014
I'm enjoying my instruction. However, I'm not get any feedback, or any indication that I might learn French. My scores on the writing sections are very low, which tells me I'm not learning?. Shouldn't this be a concern to Rosetta Stone? Again, I would like to know what I need to do to master what I am clearly failing?. November 26, 2013
Language: A bridge towards your dreams Hello. I am a 14 year-old Mexican girl. I tried on several occasions to learn German because I have family from Germany, but I never took it very seriously until two years ago when I started learning the language with Rosetta Stone. As an aspiring pianist, poet and classical culture fangirl, Europe holds a special fascination for me, specially Austria, Rome, Paris, Greece, London...the places where most of the Pre-1900 artistic movements took place. I dream of getting to study particularly in Vienna, the city of the classical music, and making a name for myself as a "new romantic" lets say. This is what really motivated me two years ago to pursue my study of languages. This and the fact that most of the historical figures I admire spoke several. I believe language to be a very important part of who we are, and speaking several languages makes us smart people. I had the opportunity to speak with native Germans, and they all praised the way I speak with almost no hint of my Mexican accent. This year I started learning the French and I am thrilled because at last I will be able to read the masterpieces of French literature in their original language. And not only that; when I am done, I shall most definitely continue with Italian and Greek. In this time I have learned to see language differently. Instead of being a barrier, language should be seen as a bridge: a bridge to help us walk towards our dreams. And Rosetta Stone is a very quick and enjoyable way to make the journey. I recommend it most sincerely. November 14, 2013
Learning for fun I bought levels 1-5 french. I have been self studying for 10 months when i decided to buy rosetta stone. I really like the program. it has become a little addictive for me. I like that you can pause the learning sessions after each grouping. this allows you to really look at the differances in grammer and spelling, which is important to get you through the spelling sections that come up. the spelling part is very difficult. however going over it over and over till you get it right really makes it stick in your memory. there are also games that you can play that are really fun. you can play them alone or with someone else. but I find it dificult to actually find someone else to play them with when I am online. there are game nights, although I have not been able to try out game night becouse of my work schedule. the program also has reward stamps that you get in your profile to show what you have accomplished. however I have noticed that I did not recieve one that I earned. ( a little disapointed by that). but I really do feel that my efforts to learn french have progressed much quicker and more thouroghly than before. I definatly recomend this software to anyone looking to learn anouther language. October 6, 2012
