Introducing the DataStation® picco SSD 3.0 with write protection from TrekStor
More compact than a small stack of business cards, and weighing in at just over one ounce, Trekstor picco SSD drives have changed the game for on-the-go professionals, photographers, video editors and anyone else who demands the pinnacle of fast and portable storage.
Not all solid state drives are created equal. Beyond the obvious differences in size and weight, all DataStation® picco drives are equipped with one of the fastest controller chips on the market, enabling speeds unheard of in such a small package. Equipped with USB 3.0, even the largest of files will open in a fraction of the time of a standard drive.
Silent is the new sexy. DataStation® picco drives have absolutely no moving parts, their operation isn’t just quiet. It’s completely silent. No more whirring and clicking drives, picco drives can read and write large files in seconds--soundlessly.
Reliable and built to last. We’ve all heard the tales. Family photo collections, entire music libraries, that critical signed contract--lost when a portable disk drive crashed to the floor. Traditional hard disk drives consist of various moving parts making them susceptible to shock and damage, while SSDs use a non-mechanical design of flash memory mounted on a circuit board. Although we never recommend dropping any computer peripheral, you can rest assure that your data is safer on a solid state drive by TrekStor than almost anywhere else.
Great for performance fanatics. No one likes to wait for a file to load. But anyone that is accessing a lot of large files knows what it means to wait. And wait. And wait some more. Whether you’re a photographer, musician, video fanatic, PC gamer or you’re just in a huge hurry to find your mother’s quiche recipe, a max data read speed of 450MB/s will get you there in a fraction of the time.
In fact, here’s some things to think about 1 while you’re waiting for that net file to open from your old disc drive:
In fact, just about everything is faster with a solid state drive from TrekStor.
Measuring an astonishingly small 2” x 3.3” and less than a half-inch in thickness and available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB versions, DataStation® picco drives are some of the smallest and lightest drives on the market today. In addition to our standard drives with write protection, we also offer a model supplied with a high quality synthetic leather wallet that not only protects the DataStation and the included USB 3.0 cable, but also features convenient extra space for business cards and/or credit cards.
(5 star)Rating: 5/5Great product! This review is from: TrekStor DataStation Picco SSD 3.0 External 1.8'' 512GB with Leather Case - Black
Pros: I love that this is so small for the amount of storage capacity. It can fit in a purse or pocket with or without the case. I use this to transport pictures from computer to computer. It is extremely fast and I do not have to wait for the large files to transfer as on other competitive devices. The case makes it look more professional and keeps everything in one compact place.
Cons: No problems!!
Other Thoughts:I would definitely recommend this product and would purchase this again.
I use mine with a media player box on my TV. Great for use with video files. Transfer speeds are fast, making full use of USB 3.0. Even better for playing directly from the drive. No stutter or playback delay with .avi or .mkv files like I saw with my old HDD external. I also travel with it quite a bit, and I like the fact that it is smaller, lighter and I don’t have to worry as much about dropping it since there are no moving parts to foul.
I am a photographer and shoot youth sporting events and sell pics to parents. I have typically used external hard drives for my image library. (as I have a laptop) Browsing images was painfully slow and the drives are big and bulky. I’ve been looking at external SSD’s for a while and finally made the plunge as prices have come down a lot. The difference from standard drives is incredible. As for this drive in particular, I was amazed at how small and light it was. It seems solidly built and have had no problem with it whatsoever.” I can sit with the parents and bring up any photo from a game or even a whole season in a split second. I can’t imagine going back to a hard disk now.
