Rated 5 out of 5by Sparticus post-its Package Design, an unnatural disaster
Shopping for just the right post-it style note-cube can require an enormous amount of time, so arrive at the store early. Want to know if it's a sticky or non-sticky note? Want to know if they are sticky on one edge, or are accordian style? Want to know if the sheets are padded or loose? Want to know which holder they will fit? Good luck! If the information you're looking for is even on the wrapper, the locations aren't standardized so prepare to hunt. Most hunts will be unsuccessful, however. What you need to know isn't displayed. The proliferation of the cubed-note-pad has far outstripped the ability of manufacturers to communicate with their customers. Fortunately, a knowledgable Office Depot store clerk came to the rescue, although the size, it turned out, was slightly smaller than my holder. It would be a rather simple matter to standardize packaging and use matching colors and patterns to pair a pad with it's holder, or a style you're looking for today to match a style you bought six months ago. To the makers' credit, they've made one thing obvious: the hideous color mixes taking over the shelves. Rarely do I need a mix of colors, especially darker blue which makes my scribbles hard to read. Lost in the varieties of sizes and styles is the lowly but functional yellow note, which seems available in less choices than all those "clown" pads. If your experience is the same, stand up! Cast off your shackles! And demand intelligent design over the mutated evolution plaguing today's post-it note package.
