Rated 4.3 out of 5?by 86 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5?by Great desk for the money Overall, I'm very happy with the desk. After reading all the reviews about how hard it was to assemble, we paid the company that Office Depot recommended, assemble it for us...well worth the money. The desk is very nice looking, well-built and good for a home office. I have a couple of complaints. First, the drawers aren't very deep...not as deep as the desk. They will hold letter sized paper, but I usually use legal size folders. I cannot use legal size folders in this desk. I'm not sure why they didn't make the drawers as deep as the desk since there is plenty of room. The other complaint is that the hole for the monitor cable is right in the middle of the desk. If you put your cables through that hole and then put your monitor on top of it, your monitor wobbles because it isn't flat on the desk. If you move the monitor forward, it's fine, but too close to me. This problem is easily solved as they do have another opening at the top, back of the desk. As I said, I am happy with the purchase. You can't beat the price. January 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5?by Can't beat the value This is great little desk for a small office. The brushed maple is a surprisingly beautiful finish. It's sturdy and seems like it will last. The knobs are simple but classy looking. The desktop is a nice and thick piece of wood. Instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow for the most part. The only tricky part are the hinges on the swinging door. The instructions are a little difficult to understand without words. But if I can figure it out, then I'm sure you can too. The letter drawer is solid and comes with the pieces you need to start hanging your files. The side that holds your computer is just deep enough to shut the door. However, I'm planning to remove the aesthetic back piece that you nail on so that there is more space and ventilation for the CPU. Cable management is provided through the desktop (where the monitor would rest) and through the CPU space. For just over a hundred dollars, you simply cannot beat the value. Very functional and a great space saver. My wife and are extremely pleased. January 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5?by Very attractive Received quickly and assembled it in a few hours. Was a little skeptical about the instructions after reading what other reviewers said but apparently I got different ones than they did. Look at the picture and assemble is what I got. Did drill venting holes in the back so my computer could breathe with its multiple fans going. Temp is staying fine in this config. but one should monitor it if you choose to do what I did. As far as moving it, all you have to do is remove the top ( don't glue the pegs on top) and the modesty panel and its ready for the next location. Maybe 30 minutes to dis assemble and reassemble. I'm in my late 60's so I'm probably a little slower than most. :) January 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5?by Nice desk and easy to assemble Bought this desk at a local Office Depot. It's heavy and the local clerk helped me load it into my truck. Once home, I took the pieces out of the box and took them upstairs a few at a time. There are a LOT of parts so taking the whole box to the room it was going into (10 x 15 ft bedroom) wouldn't have worked anyway. Once I was ready to assemble it, I was a little startled at first to find that the instructions were pictures only with no text. I like to have both. Once I got started though, I found the pictures to be pretty well done and I was able to assemble the desk in a few hours. Those expecting to get it done in one or two hours are fooling themselves. Any large piece of furniture like this takes more than that. As long as you go into it knowing there is a time investment, you'll be fine. All went together well and I didn't have any damaged parts. The screws or nails or whatever Dawson considers them that attach the modesty panel to the back were too weak for me. They bent as I tried to secure them. So I went to my garage and got some finishing nails instead. Those worked perfectly. Other than that, no problems what-so-ever. The desk is very nice looking and meets my needs well. A little surprise though. The computer compartment on the left side...there is a sticker that comes with it that says to leave the door open when using the computer. Uh, no thanks. If I do elect to put my PC in there, I will remove the door completely and leave it off. I don't want the door hanging open. That seems kind of silly to me. Overall, I like the desk and I have some heavy radio equipment on it (90+ pounds). The desk doesn't flinch at this. I love the color, size and layout and I am happy with my purchase. January 11, 2015
