Pilot? V-Ball? Liquid Ink Rollerball Pens, 0.5 mm, Extra Fine Point, Purple Barrel, Purple Ink, Pack Of 12 4 5 1 1
Love the Purple Color, Hate the Ink Blots... I've purchased numerous boxes of these pens over the years and, like the other Pilot V-Balls, they can unexpectantly leak. As well, with the 'constant flow' ink system, if pressed against anything (with the cap off) they leak onto it. For example, inadvertently dropping one down the couch cushion--oops, now the entire couch is ruined! into one's purse and the cap comes off--oops, the inside silk lining is blotched and many items inside are covered! left on one's dining table and a cloth napkin or runner touches the point--oops, that piece of material or set is ruined.... u get the point. Sure, it's always prudent to put the cap on, but there are times when one forgets, or when life happens or the caps comes off on its own... the ink dispersal is akin to a permanent marker in that case. No solutions have removed the ink, not one (ammonia, bleach, oxy clean, pure enzymes, dish liquid, lemon juice, boiling water + baking soda, borax, even solvents). So be very, very careful! But, hey, the purple color IS lovely for writing...and it IS a skip-proof line so long as the pen isn't doing the 'leaky' thing, then it'll act all weird--skip, then blob out. They can do that sometimes even when brand new. I had to throw away 4-5 full pens that were just no good out of each box I've bought. Another good thing, tho, is that when it is a 'good' pen, it will last for months, even years. won't dry out. Just be careful. We store them with the tips up, caps on. March 12, 2010
