I bought this product to carry-on flights when traveling. The size and roll along features are great. I can fit everything I need for short trips. Unfortunately, when filled, it does not fit in the overhead compartments or under the seats of commercial airlines because it's to wide. Had to have it checked in.

Handle life/ease of retraction & storage: Excellent
Wheel life: Excellent
Zipper/Bag material life: Excellent
This is the 6th Wenger Patriot bag I have purchased. This one is for my wife & replaces a US Luggage case (not a good case IMO). Before you draw any conclusions, I fly over 160,000 miles a year and typically visit at least 9 foreign countries with a variety of sidewalk, parking lot, and "road" surfaces that are hard to imagine. This bag goes into all overheads but regional jets - sometimes you have to take out the laptop bag to get it to fit. When I am at home, this bag goes with me to my office. I carry a small electronics store in this bag - laptop, iPad, USB ultradrives, magazines, GPS & adapter, power supply, power adapters, extension strip, Ethernet cable, video adapters, pens, pencils, OTC meds, you name it. I get about 3-4 years per bag with this kind of abuse. Except for the first bag, I have never had a handle failure and Wenger replaced that one on a lifetime guarantee. Since then, I've replaced one other on warranty (zipper failure but I would have been fine if they'd rejected it - the bag was done for) but every other one I have gladly purchased at retail or special sale prices. You cannot go wrong with this bag.

Purchased to replace previously, worn out, Wenger tote. Used by a teacher to transport class work, laptop, and school supplies, to and from school. Holds an enormous amount of schoolwork, and easy to roll and maneuver.

Rated 1 out of 5by GNet Beware of the Limited Warranty for Handle Issues
I loved the bag, however, the handle will not retract anymore. Contacted Swissgear (included original receipt) and this is their response: "The limited lifetime warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the bag. It does not cover normal wear and tear/natural aging. Your claim has been reviewed and it has been determined that the damage to your product is not a result of a defect in materials and workmanship and, therefore, would not be covered under the warranty." Not sure how the handle not retracting is normal wear and tear and not covered by the warranty. Buyer beware that the limited warranty is useless if you have issues with the handle. The rest of the bag is in great shape but is now useless.
